Betterliving Patio Rooms

Sunrooms are a want not a need for most of us. Therefore price, although important, should not be the primary issue for you to consider.

Here is a list of important items to consider when preparing for your purchase.

  • Quality of the product
  • Engineering, Yes or No ( should be yes)
  • Guarantee, (minimum 15 years on the product)
  • How long the manufacturer has been around
  • How long the contractor has been in Business
  • What is the labor Guarantee (5 years is reasonable)
  • Ask for a list of 15 or 20 of their customers for references and call several.

Questions to ask

  • Was the contactor knowledgeable
  • Did they meet the time schedule
  • Did they complete the job to your satisfaction
  • Are you pleased with the product you purchased
  • What would you change or do differently
  • Would you recommend them for my sunroom
  • Does the contractor use subcontractors for his installations
  • Does he carry liability insurance
  • Does he have workers compensation for his employees, ask for a copy to show that he is in good standing
  • Does he have the necessary credentials to design the project and see it to completion?
  • Does he/she recommend a building permit? If not this should not be the contractor of choice for your project.
The province of Ontario requires a building permit for all construction projects, and your sunroom or new deck falls into this category.
The answers to these questions will provide you with all the information you will need to safely select a sunroom contractor to complete your project. Of course we're always happy to assist you with any further questions you may have as well.
